Role Description

The Junior Accountant is a full-time, on-site position based in Buffalo, NY. This role supports the club’s financial operations by assisting with accounts payable and receivable, posting journal entries, and maintaining accurate ledgers. The Junior Accountant helps prepare and reconcile monthly financial statements, supports budgeting activities, and monitors transaction records for accuracy and compliance with club policies. Day-to-day responsibilities include processing member billing, handling expense reports, assisting with bank reconciliations, and coordinating with internal teams to resolve discrepancies.

The role also contributes to periodic audits, maintains organized financial documentation, and provides general accounting support to senior finance staff.

Qualifications
  • Foundational accounting knowledge, including familiarity with general ledger entries, financial statements, and basic bookkeeping practices.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office tools (especially Excel) to manage data entry, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy in numerical work, and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to work with internal teams, vendors, and club members.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities in a hospitality or membership-based environment.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Prior experience in an accounting or finance support role is beneficial; familiarity with hospitality or club operations is a plus.
  • Demonstrated integrity, discretion, and commitment to maintaining confidential financial information.
