The opportunity
Delaware North is hiring a Director of Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting to join our team at our global headquarters in Buffalo, New York. The Director of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting is responsible for the governance of Delaware North’s financial reporting and accounting policies.
PayMinimum – Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $132,100 – $224,700 / year
In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. The advertised pay range represents what we believe at the time of this job posting, that we would be willing to pay for this position. Only in special circumstances, where a candidate has education, training, or experience that far exceeds the requirements for the position, would we consider paying higher than the stated range.

- Govern and direct Delaware North’s chart of accounts in accordance with reporting requirements and business needs
- Provide expert advice on technical accounting matters and interface with outside consultants to identify and address complex accounting issues
- Direct the development of internal controls related to processes and monitor compliance with company policies related to Lease Administration
- Ensure lender compliance reporting is timely, complete, and accurate
- Provide direction and drive policy around technical accounting matters, including interpretation of generally accepted accounting principles and their application across the business
- Effectively assess talent, establish standards, and build engagement throughout the financial reporting and technical accounting team
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders to drive the successful performance of the function
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required
- Certified Public Accountant required
- Ability to supervise staff toward timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks
- Independent problem solving and analytical abilities coupled with good troubleshooting skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely across management and staff levels and with international management and consultants

- Strong automated system skills required with ability to independently learn automated system functionality
- Experience with People Soft Financials and One Stream preferred
- Strong automated system skills required with ability to learn automated system functionality independently
- Strong knowledge of accounting policies and procedures, US GAAP and ability to learn and apply Australian IFRS.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
