The Senior Accountant is a full-time, on-site role with a possibility of hybrid. This position is responsible for overseeing general ledger activities, preparing and reviewing journal entries, and ensuring timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings. The Senior Accountant will manage financial reporting, support budgeting and forecasting, and perform variance and cost analyses relevant to manufacturing operations. Daily responsibilities include reconciling accounts, managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, maintaining internal controls, assisting with audits, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
The role also collaborates with operations, purchasing, and leadership to provide financial insights, improve processes, and support strategic decision-making.
- Oversee general ledger activities and maintain accurate financial records
- Manage all accounts payable and Accounts receivable
- Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations
- Manage timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes
- Prepare and review financial statements and management reports
- Ensure accounting records are maintained in accordance with GAAP and company policies
- Analyze financial data and provide meaningful insights to management
- Support annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting processes
- Perform financial and operational variance analysis
- Conduct cost accounting and profitability analysis relevant to manufacturing operations
- Monitor expenses and identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement
- Provide financial information and analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Maintain and monitor effective internal accounting controls
- Assist with internal and external audits
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies
- Support documentation and implementation of accounting policies and procedures
- Identify opportunities to strengthen financial controls and improve processes
- Collaborate with operations, purchasing, and leadership to support manufacturing activities
- Analyze manufacturing costs and operational financial performance
- Provide financial insights to support purchasing, production, and operational decisions
- Assist with process improvements and accounting system enhancements
- Support management with financial analysis and other accounting projects as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Prior experience in a senior or advanced accounting role, preferably within manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including GAAP, general ledger management, and financial reporting
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cost accounting
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
- Proficiency with accounting and ERP systems
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and related financial tools
- Familiarity with internal control frameworks, audit support, and regulatory compliance
- CPA or CMA certification is a plus
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
- Advanced general ledger and financial reporting knowledge
- Strong analytical and financial modeling abilities
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cost accounting
- Proficiency with ERP and accounting systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
