Job Description
A small, well established accounting firm is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Bookkeeper to join their team! This part-time, long term temporary position in the lovely village of Williamsville offers:
- 20hrs/week, on-site position (Fall, winter, and spring season workdays are Mon
- Fri, summer season is Mon
- Thu) - Employer can offer flexibility and will allow a "flex schedule" as needed and within reason
- $22 - $25/hr. (depending on experience)
Position Summary: The Bookkeeper will manage daily financial transactions and records. They maintain accurate general ledgers, process accounts payable/receivable, handle bank reconciliations, and prepare financial statements.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Transaction Recording:
Accurately log all daily income, expenses, and financial activities into accounting systems. - Accounts Payable & Receivable:
Issue invoices, manage collections, pay vendor bills, and track outstanding balances. - Bank & Credit Card Reconciliation:
Match internal financial records against monthly statements to identify and resolve discrepancies. - Financial Reporting:
Generate essential financial reports, such as Profit and Loss (P&L) statements and balance sheets. - Payroll Processing:
Calculate wages, process payments, and maintain tax withholding compliance. - Tax Preparation & Auditing:
Organize receipts and records to collaborate with accountants for tax filings and audits.
Requirements to be successful in this role:
- Software Proficiency:
Strong working knowledge of accounting software like Quick Books Desktop, along with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, etc) - Bookkeeping Principles: A solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, debits and credits, and basic GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Attention to Detail:
High accuracy in data entry and the ability to spot numerical anomalies. - Organizational
Skills:
Time-management capabilities to handle multiple accounts and deadlines.
