Duties Description We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive individual to serve as the Scheduling Coordinator for the office of Senator April N.M. Baskin. This role requires a motivated professional who can skillfully manage the Senator's schedule, coordinate events, and assist special projects aimed at advancing the goals and initiatives of District 63. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess excellent communication skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, strategic thinking, and the ability to work under pressure.

Regular travel will be required throughout the district for key events and limited travel to Albany. Access to a vehicle is recommended but not required.

This dynamic role requires carrying out a diverse set of responsibilities, including, but not limited to:

Scheduling and Administrative Support:

* Manage the Senator's daily, weekly, and long-term schedule, including meetings, community events, legislative sessions, and travel arrangements

* Serve as the primary point of contact for scheduling requests, ensuring all engagements align with the Senator's priorities and responsibilities

* Maintain clear communication with staff, community leaders, and other stakeholders regarding the Senator's availability

* Prepare detailed itineraries and briefing materials for the Senator's meetings, events, and public appearances

* Coordinate with legislative and communications staff to ensure alignment between the Senator's schedule and public messaging

* Assist with general office operations, including answering phones, responding to emails, and managing correspondence

Special Projects Coordination:

* Plan, organize, and execute special projects and initiatives that advance the Senator's legislative and community priorities

* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to design and implement programs that address key issues in District 63

* Assist with project progress, establish timelines, and ensure deliverables are met on time and within budget

* Research and recommend innovative ideas for community engagement and outreach efforts

* Represent the Senator at community meetings, events, and public forums when needed

* Support staff with additional duties as needed to ensure the smooth functioning of the office.

Minimum Qualifications To move forward, you must have:

* Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Communications, or related field preferred - relevant work experience may substitute for education

* Minimum one year of experience in scheduling, project management, or a related role, preferably in a government or nonprofit setting

* Proven experience working in political communications, preferably in a government, campaign, or advocacy environment

* Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
