Strategic Procurement Specialist

The Strategic Procurement Specialist is responsible for executing various procurement activities in keeping procurement records and system databases accurate, timely, and complete. Maintains supplier documentation, SAP data maintenance of material (ex. raw material code), vendor master data files and records to include master file data entry, alteration, and retrieval of data development. Additionally, will support sourcing activities, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost optimization and risk mitigation.
This role supports organizational goals by driving procurement excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement in procurement processes.
- Evaluate and streamline procurement policies and procedures.
- Use procurement software and tools (e.g., SAP, Ariba) to streamline processes and enhance data analysis.
- Maintains integrity of files and follows established protocol for data maintenance.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to align procurement strategies with organizational goals.
- Support supplier relationship management (SRM) activities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement strategies with business objectives.
- Conduct spend analysis and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
- Support category management strategic work, including RFI/RFP execution.
- Procurement lead of RME process including collection of required documentation (Trace Gains, Letter of Guarantee, COI, etc.).
- Informs internal customers of RMC ingredient approvals and discontinuation.
- Fulfillment of samples requests required for swift R&D development work.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in business, economics, supply chain management or related field.
- Minimum 2 years related experience, with preference for strategic procurement and/or finance background preferred.
- Advanced analytical and data modeling skills. Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights that will drive strong business decisions.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross‑functional teams.
- Strong communication skills including written, verbal and formal presentations.
- Technically proficient with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.
- Preferred proficiency using Procurement/ERP software and tools, including SAP & Ariba.
- Ability to multi‑task and prioritize in complex, sometimes ambiguous and always fast‑paced environment.

Annual Range/Hourly Rate$58,915.00-$79,709.00
