A DAY IN THE LIFE
Your first several months will be spent learning the business, understanding the people, and determining what needs to happen to build a stronger, more scalable sales organization–not selling. In fact, you won’t be doing that at all in year one.
You'll ultimately inherit a team of approximately ten people, but your initial focus will be on the six‑person U.S. team supporting North America, South America, and Australia. Our Product Specialists, Account Managers, and Business Development Managers all bring different strengths, personalities, and approaches to customer relationships. Your responsibility is to uncover what’s working, what’s not, and figure out where greater structure, accountability, and coaching can help the team become stronger.
One of your biggest opportunities will be creating greater consistency in how the organization approaches sales. As the company grows, it’s important that the team understands they aren’t simply selling products. Customers aren’t choosing Exact Medical because of a microscope cover, ultrasound probe cover, or sterile barrier. The products matter, but they’re rarely the reason someone buys. The outcomes are what earn the business.
Our customers are choosing a manufacturing partner. They’re choosing quality oversight, regulatory support, supply chain confidence, and a company that owns the process from start to finish. Helping the team consistently communicate that value in the marketplace will be a critical part of your success.
You’ll spend a significant amount of time coaching, mentoring, and evaluating talent. Some people will continue to grow and develop. Others may reveal limitations that coaching alone can’t solve. Part of your role will be recognizing the difference and making the decisions necessary to build a stronger organization over time.
You’ll also partner closely with CEO, Ryan Power, and the leadership team to create greater structure around the sales organization. You’ll help define expectations, improve processes, establish accountability, and contribute to the long‑term strategy that guides the business forward.
Today, some processes are managed through spreadsheets, forms, and institutional knowledge. A new CRM is currently being implemented, creating a significant runway for someone who enjoys building systems, creating structure, and helping an organization scale.
This is an environment that rewards initiative. You’ll have support, resources, and direct access to leadership, but nobody is going to tell you what to do every day. Ryan believes in giving people the freedom to solve problems, think critically, and take ownership of outcomes. He shouldn’t be finding problems before you do. He wants a leader who notices issues early, solves what they can, and brings solutions when support is needed.
WHATYOU'RE EXCITED TO BRING WITH YOU
You’re an experienced B2B sales leader who has transformed a collection of individual sellers into a cohesive sales organization. You know how to evaluate talent. You know how to coach performance. You know how to identify the difference between a skill gap, a process issue, and a people problem. You lead without ego, and you’re hungry enough to push for growth but humble enough to know you don’t have all the answers.
You’re comfortable with data and understand how quoting, forecasting, costing models, margins, and budgets all work together to tell a story. More importantly, you know how to translate numbers into decisions.
You take initiative because that’s how you’re wired, not because someone asked you to. You can’t coach ownership if you don’t naturally take ownership yourself. You can’t teach curiosity if you’re not genuinely curious. The team will ultimately become a reflection of what you consistently model, which means the behaviors you’re trying to develop in others are already ingrained in who you are.
And while medical device or medical manufacturing experience would certainly be valuable, we’re ultimately looking for someone who possesses curiosity, business acumen, leadership maturity, and a genuine desire to leave a lasting mark.
If you’d rather create the structure than simply…
