About Honey Coin

Honey Coin is building the financial infrastructure that powers Africa's next wave of commerce. We make it possible for businesses to collect, convert, and settle money across borders, fast, affordably, and reliably, using a hybrid of fiat and stablecoin rails that cut through the cost and friction of legacy banking. Our platform is already live across Africa, Europe, North America, and Asia, processing over $150M transactions and serving 350+ enterprise customers.

We raised a $4.9M seed round backed by Flourish Ventures, Visa Ventures, TLcom Capital, Stellar Development Foundation, 4DX Ventures, and Antler. We've also partnered with Tether to expand stablecoin access across the continent. We're licensed in the US, Canada, the EU, and key African markets.

Our values:
Agency | Work ethic | Sense of urgency | Attention to detail | Curiosity Role Details Role Purpose

The Associate Product Manager is a junior Product Manager who works closely with the Product Lead to bring Honey Coin's products to life by owning specific features and the execution work behind them. The role sits at the centre of the build cycle: turning direction into clear specs, keeping delivery moving, watching how shipped work performs, and feeding in the research that shapes what comes next.

This is a hands‑on craft role built to grow product management fundamentals quickly, with more ownership as the Associate Product Manager proves themselves. The role supports product health, delivery, and market research.

Key Responsibilities
  • 1. Execution and Delivery
    • Turn the Product Lead's direction into clear specs / PRDs with acceptance criteria for assigned features.
    • Write user stories, manage tickets, and keep your part of the backlog organised.
    • Work day‑to‑day with engineering and design, clarifying requirements, unblocking, coordinating QA, and supporting launch.
    • Take part in sprint ceremonies including planning, check‑ins, and retros.
  • 2. Product Health and Quality
    • Monitor metrics and dashboards for your features; flag bugs, drop‑offs, and quality issues early.
    • Triage incoming bugs and small enhancement requests.
    • Keep release notes and product documentation up to date.

Honey Coin | Associate Product Manager
  • 3. Discovery and Market Insight
    • Run discovery tasks including user interviews, support‑feedback synthesis, and lightweight usability checks.
    • Track competitors, market shifts, and relevant regulatory changes, and propose feature updates for the Product Lead to prioritise.
  • 4. Collaboration and Communication
    • Partner with engineering, design, customer success, and compliance to gather requirements and keep everyone aligned.
    • Share clear, regular updates on feature status and performance.
  • 5. Learning and Growth
    • Build deep domain knowledge in payments / fintech, including rails, mobile money, and stable coins.
    • Take on more scope and ownership over time as your judgement and track record grow.
  • Candidate Profile Required Skills
    - Quantitative Skills

    Product analytics and data literacy:
Can pull and interpret product metrics such as funnels, adoption, retention, and transaction success to read product health and guide feature decisions.

    Market and competitive analysis:
Can benchmark competitors and the market with data, and turn this into concrete feature recommendations.

    Qualitative Skills

    User discovery and product judgement:
Runs user conversations, synthesises feedback, and makes sensible feature-level calls.

    AI curiosity:
Actively explores AI tools and capabilities, experiments with them to improve products and their own workflow, and stays current on how AI can be applied to payments / fintech.

    Example KPIs
    • Quality and timeliness of specs / PRDs and acceptance criteria for assigned features.
    • Backlog organisation and ticket clarity for assigned product areas.
    • Timely coordination with engineering and design on requirements, QA, and launch support.
    • Quality of product health monitoring, including early flagging of bugs, drop-offs, and quality issues.
    • Timeliness and accuracy of release notes and product documentation.
    • Number and quality of discovery tasks completed, including interviews, feedback synthesis, and usability checks.
    • Quality of competitor, market, and regulatory insights shared with the Product Lead.
    • Clarity and consistency of updates on feature status and performance.
    • Growth in product judgement, ownership, and payments / fintech domain understanding.
