Executive Strategic Operations Analyst - Technology

Works closely with senior managers within the Division of Technology to manage key initiatives, including supporting critical cross-functional projects tied to the Bank’s strategic objectives, improving risk management, and ensuring efficiency and sustainability of core processes. Leads and/or supports design, planning, and implementation for time-sensitive, critical programs and projects. Facilitates coordination across internal program teams, senior leaders, and partner groups to ensure alignment and delivery.

• Participate in planning and implementing initiatives to achieve short- and long-term business objectives and strategic outcomes.
• Support development of project roadmaps and plans.
• Provide analytical support for divisional and Bank-wide projects, including summary-level data analysis, interpretation, and development of actionable insights.
• Perform intermediate data manipulation and formatting using tools such as pivot tables, charts, and structured reporting to inform decision-making.
• Develop and produce ad‑hoc and automated reports, including workflow, project status, and trend analysis.
• Synthesize qualitative and quantitative information into clear, concise summaries for senior leadership and stakeholder decision‑making.
• Coordinate discussions and agenda development for regular meetings with internal program teams, senior leaders, and partner groups to drive alignment and progress.
• Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite.
• Identify risk‑related issues needing escalation to management.
• Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
• Complete other related duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 7 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Math, Accounting, Engineering, or Business Administration
• Minimum of 4 years’ relevant work experience
• Banking/financial industry experience
• Six Sigma, Lean or Process Improvement, or project management‑related education
• Experience with SQL, programming and statistical software
• Experience with financial, regulatory and/or process analysis, and technical writing
• Curious and innovative
