Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Therapeutic Foster Care Caseworker to support children and families involved in foster care. This role focuses on assessing family needs, ensuring child safety, coordinating services, and facilitating meaningful engagement between youth, families, and foster families. - Provide effective case management services to youth in foster care, including scheduling counseling sessions, ensuring completion of required medical and dental exams, tracking services, and completing timely and thorough documentation; ensure compliance with confidentiality standards, parental consent, and release of information requirements
- Conduct weekly casework contacts with a minimum of twice monthly visits conducted in the foster home setting; focusing on treatment goals and engaging youth and families by building effective, supportive relationships; ensure children are maintained in safe, secure environments.
- Assessment of family strengths and needs; identify problem areas and utilize appropriate treatment modalities and resources to support growth and positive change
- Participate in the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of comprehensive treatment and discharge plans
- Facilitate engagement and communication among youth, families, and foster families through phone calls, face'to'face contacts, family conferences, treatment reviews, and other appropriate methods
- Assist with permanency planning, including reunification efforts between youth and their families
- Collaborate with other agencies and outside service providers to ensure educational, medical, and mental health needs are fully addressed
- Flexible schedule, primarily 9-5 with some evenings and weekends required
- Bachelor's required
- Master's degree preferred
- Experience working with Child and Family Services
- Valid driver's license
- First Aid/CPR certification required (awaiting confirmation from OD&T regarding certification timeline)
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- organizational skills, ability and desire to work as part of a collaborative team, excellent communication skills, attention to detail.
