We are partnering with a well-established civil construction contractor in Buffalo that focuses on commercial site development. With a proven history of delivering high-quality storm sewer, sanitary sewer, waterline, and earthwork projects, this company serves commercial clients throughout Western New York with dependable infrastructure solutions.
They are looking to hire an experienced Civil Estimator to help expand their project portfolio. This role will focus on projects located within roughly a one-hour radius of Buffalo and will be responsible for producing accurate, competitive, and profitable bids. It’s a great opportunity to join a respected contractor that values technical expertise, teamwork, and active involvement in impactful civil infrastructure work.
Key Responsibilities- Develop precise and competitive cost estimates for civil/sitework projects.
- Review plans, specifications, and bid packages.
- Complete quantity takeoffs for storm, sanitary, water, and earthwork scopes.
- Obtain and analyze subcontractor and supplier pricing.
- Partner with project managers and operations teams during preconstruction.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and potential project risks.
- Assist with bid submissions and maintain organized estimating records.
- Experience estimating civil/site development or underground utility projects
- Solid knowledge of storm sewer, sanitary sewer, waterline, and earthwork construction
- Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and technical specifications
- Proficiency in estimating software and digital takeoff tools
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to handle multiple bids and meet deadlines
