About the Role

The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial and industrial construction projects, with a focus on electrical systems and related scopes of work. This role works closely with project managers, subcontractors, vendors, and leadership to support preconstruction efforts, budgeting, bid preparation, and project planning. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, construction knowledge, and experience estimating electrical work for commercial construction projects.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed electrical estimates for commercial construction and renovation projects
  • Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope and requirements
  • Perform quantity takeoffs for electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, low voltage, and related systems
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
  • Develop conceptual budgets, bid proposals, and cost analyses
  • Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions
  • Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients during preconstruction phases
  • Maintain accurate records of estimates, proposals, and bid documentation
  • Assist in project hand-off meetings and support operations teams as projects transition into construction
  • Monitor market pricing, labor costs, and material trends
  • Participate in bid reviews, scope clarifications, and subcontractor negotiations
  • Ensure estimates align with project schedules, safety requirements, and company standards
Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Electrical Technology, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of electrical estimating experience in commercial or industrial construction preferred
Required Skills
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, NEC codes, and construction practices
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents
  • Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of project scheduling and construction sequencing is a plus
  • Excellent mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
