NY HELPS Job Opportunity
The NY HELPS (Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Program Statewide) is a New York State program that allows civil service agencies to hire qualified permanent employees quickly and without requiring them to take a competitive civil service exam. It was created to help agencies fill critical vacancies by streamlining the appointment process, though candidates must still meet all other minimum qualifications for the job.
Performance Knowledge, Skills Attributes and Characteristics:
Thorough knowledge of office terminology, procedures and equipment; thorough knowledge of business arithmetic and English; good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suite or other necessary computer software; ability to plan, assign and review the work of clerical personnel; ability to maintain records and prepare reports; a high degree of accuracy and dependability; sound judgment; tact, courtesy; initiative and resourcefulness;
physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Salary/Pay Scale
Starting at $21.01/hr PLUS Generous Benefits Package
