The Department of Surgery within the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, State University of New York at Buffalo (UB), is seeking a highly qualified Pediatric Surgeon to serve as Division Chief of Pediatric Surgery. This full‑time position will be based at our major affiliated teaching hospitals, with an appointment at the Clinical Associate or Full Professor level.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in advancing pediatric surgery services and will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in patient‑centered care.
Overall Duties- Serving as attending physician for inpatient pediatric care services
- Providing consultation, treatment, and follow‑up for pediatric surgery patients
- Teaching and mentoring residents, fellows, and medical students
- Engaging in clinical and basic science research, as well as participating in clinical trials that promote advancements in pediatric surgery
- Serving as a mentor and advisor to junior faculty within the division
- Contributing to curriculum development and educational innovation in pediatric surgical training
- Participating in departmental committees and strategic planning initiatives
- Assisting in quality improvement, patient safety, and program development projects within the Division of Pediatric Surgery
- Helping foster collaborations across hospital sites and with community partners to expand pediatric surgical care and outreach
