Part-time After school Program Support Staff Do you enjoy working with children and being a steady, positive presence in their day? Are you patient, energetic, and comfortable helping kids navigate emotions and behavior in a structured environment? If you’re someone who shows up consistently, builds trust easily, and wants to make a meaningful impact after the school day ends, this could be a great fit.

An established community-based organization is seeking an After school Program Support Staff member to support an elementary‑age after school program located within a local primary school. This role pays $19.00 per hour and runs Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, for the remainder of the school year (through June, excluding school breaks). This role is less about formal teaching and more about being the right presence — someone who can help maintain a calm, positive environment, support children emotionally, and manage behavior without escalation.

The program serves approximately 25 students, with activities and programming developed by an on‑site coordinator. This is an in‑person, on‑site position in the Buffalo area.

Qualifications
  • Completion of at least 1–2 college courses in Early Childhood Education (required)
  • Experience or coursework related to behavioral health, psychology, social work, counseling, or similar fields strongly preferred
  • Comfortable working with elementary‑age children in an after school setting
  • Patient, calm, and emotionally steady — able to de‑escalate behavior when needed
  • High energy, creative, and genuinely enjoys working with children
  • Able to commit through the end of the school year (June, excluding breaks)
