Guidance​/School Counselor Substitute​/LTS

Responsibilities

• The mission of the Counseling and Guidance program is to reach all students through a comprehensive program that will assist all students in acquiring the skills, knowledge, and attitudes needed to become self-confident, healthy, responsible, and productive citizens. The program addresses the personal/social, educational, and career development needs of all students. In partnership with other educators, parents or guardians, and the community, the counseling and guidance program facilitates the growth and development of all students.
• The counselors are required to follow the NYS Comprehensive Curriculum and Guidance Program.
• Create mass schedule.
• Update add/drop of teachers and classes.
• Track grades for students and report.
• Produce report cards.
• Support school-wide assessments including NOCTI.
• Help students, parents/guardians with career and college choices and applications.
• Help students demonstrate a positive attitude toward themselves as unique and worthy persons.

  After 30 days based on degree would be put on teacher pay steps
