School Counselor, Guidance Counselor: Social/Educational
School Counselor (Full-Time) REACH Academy Charter School is seeking a full-time school counselor to join a collaborative and mission-driven team. REACH is a supportive, community-oriented school where staff work together to help every student succeed. Counselors are empowered to grow professionally, contribute ideas, and build meaningful relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
The school day runs from 6:50 AM – 2:30 PM
, with one day per week extending until 4:00 PM for staff planning and collaboration.
REACH offers a competitive salary and strong benefits package.
Salary Range: $40,000 – $65,830
Starting salary of $45,000 for certified candidates
$40,000 for candidates working toward certification
Up to 10 years of prior experience recognized on the salary scale

Provide individual and small-group counseling to support students social, emotional, and behavioral development
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to address student needs and remove barriers to learning
Support the development and implementation of student support plans and interventions
Monitor student well-being and respond to emerging behavioral or mental health concerns
Maintain accurate documentation of student support services and interventions
Connect families with community resources and outside support services when appropriate
Participate in multidisciplinary teams focused on student support and well-being
Contribute to a positive, supportive school culture for students and staff
Support school routines, expectations, and procedures
Preferred candidates will have:
Bachelors degree in a related field (Masters preferred)
New York State certification or eligibility in school counseling, social work, or a related student support field
Strong communication and collaboration skills
A belief that all students can achieve high academic standards
Commitment to equity and inclusive learning environments
Passion for working in an urban education setting
Candidates working toward certification may also be considered in accordance with applicable regulations.
