DistinguishingFeatures of the Class
Faculty teach department courses and evaluate student performance pursuant to guidelines set by the department and the College. Faculty report to the Department Chair within the Academic Unit. Faculty are responsible for preparing lessons and student learning activities. Faculty must maintain accurate records on students and submit pertinent data to the department and/or the College.
Typical Work Activities- Ability to effectively communicate one‑on‑one, in small groups, and in classroom situations

- Effective problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work a combination of days, evenings, and weekends schedules
- Remains current with subject matter and instructional methodology
- Plans and teaches courses that fulfill the current curriculum goals and objectives
- Communicates progress in the course to students in a timely manner
- Provides classroom and laboratory instruction in industrial maintenance, particularly in robotics and instrumentation, mechanics, fluid power, electricity, and other assigned courses
Skills and Abilities
Good knowledge of field of specialization; knowledge of or experience in implementing a variety of teaching strategies; awareness of the value of technology as a tool for teaching; experience with computerized student record management; ability to develop educational programs; ability to teach effectively at the college level; initiative and resourcefulness; industrious and dependable; ability to get along well with others; effective communication skills;
experience teaching a diverse student body; physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering is required.
- Be eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship.

- Minimum of 5+ year's industrial experience is required.
- Candidates who are SUNY students, alumni, and/or Fellows.
