Position Summary
The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering (CBE) at the University at Buffalo (UB) invites applications for a senior faculty position in the broad area of clean energy and carbon neutrality. The ideal candidate will be an established scholar whose work complements the department’s existing strengths in energy harvesting and storage; carbon dioxide capture and utilization; and hydrogen production, storage, transport, and utilization.
Exceptional candidates at the Associate Professor level will be considered. The successful candidate should expect to participate in and, when appropriate, lead large multi‑investigator proposals and projects that engage faculty members within and beyond the department. Over the past decade, the department has experienced unprecedented growth, roughly doubling in size. Throughout this expansion, we have maintained a highly collegial and collaborative environment, while enhancing diversity of our faculty across multiple dimensions.
Our externally funded research expenditures have surpassed $10M per year and we typically publish approximately 170 refereed journal articles per year. CBE is one of ten departments in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, committed to research innovation, student support, and a culture of equity and inclusion for students, staff, and faculty.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
PhD in a Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
Outstanding track record of accomplishments in teaching, research, and service (particularly in the chemical engineering community) consistent with appointment at the level of tenured faculty member.
