The Business Teacher for grades 5–8 is responsible for delivering engaging instruction in foundational business concepts, financial literacy, and career readiness. The position emphasizes real-world applications, digital skills, and preparing students with practical knowledge for future academic and career success.

• Plan and deliver standards-based instruction in business, financial literacy, and career exploration
• Teach topics such as budgeting, saving, entrepreneurship, marketing, digital citizenship, and basic economics
• Integrate technology tools (e.g., spreadsheets, presentations, digital platforms) into instruction
• Promote problem-solving, collaboration, and critical thinking skills
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with IEPs and English Language Learners
• Assess student progress through projects, presentations, and formative assessments
• Create a positive, organized, and engaging classroom environment
• Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary and career-readiness initiatives
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school committees

• Bachelor's degree in Business Education, Education, or related field (Master's preferred)
• Valid New York State Teaching Certification in Business and Marketing Education (or appropriate certification)
• Strong understanding of financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and business concepts
• Experience integrating technology into instruction

• Experience teaching middle school students (grades 5–8)
• Familiarity with career and technical education (CTE) frameworks
• Experience with project-based learning and real-world simulations
• Knowledge of culturally responsive teaching practices

• Classroom setting within a middle school
• Regular use of technology and instructional tools

• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Support student growth in practical life and career skills
• Maintain accurate records and meet all district deadlines
• Adhere to district policies and professional standards
