Academic Counselor​/Recruiter

University at Buffalo is hiring an Academic Counselor/Recruiter for the Upward Bound Program. The role involves recruiting 9th and 10th grade students, maintaining confidential student records, monitoring student progress, and facilitating program activities including teaching classes and chaperoning field trips.

• Recruit and enroll eligible 9th and 10th-grade students into the Upward Bound Program.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of student progress, services, and eligibility documentation.
• Conduct ongoing reviews of student caseloads related to needs assessment and learning plans.
• Manage record-keeping, attendance tracking, and distribution of participant stipends.
• Represent the program at community events and staff meetings.
• Accompany and supervise students during field trips and overnight college tours.
• Teach and facilitate at least one class per semester within the program.
• Require a Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, or related field and at least one year of teaching or counseling experience.
• Prefer candidates with a Master's degree, experience with TRIO programs, and knowledge of the college admissions process.
• Proficient computer and digital literacy skills with strong organizational and communication abilities.
• Salary is estimated at $55,000 with standard work hours from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
• Position requires a background check and involves physical activity such as moving between locations and handling items over 10 pounds.
