Remedial Speech Teacher Temporary
QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold New York State certification as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped or Teacher of the Speech and Language Disabled. Candidates are required to attach a PDF or a screenshot of their certifications. New York State Licensure and Registration as a Speech-Language Pathologist and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence are preferred. Candidates must have knowledge of Medicaid Regulations, ASHA Scope and Practice of Speech-Language Pathology, and Federal and State Regulations pertaining to Speech Pathology.
DUTIES:
Duties include but are not limited to, establishing an environment to enhance individual growth and promote effective communication and speech-language skills, facilitating on-going services for students with disabilities, and conducting speech-language screening and evaluations. The Speech Teacher works cooperatively with school personnel, to accomplish the goals and objectives stated on IEP. The speech teacher plans, organizes, and delivers the highest quality of speech-language services, monitors and evaluates student progress, maintains records and reports, enforces Board of Education policies, regulations, and rules, maintains school property and materials and performs any assigned duties as deemed necessary.
