Summary
The Undergraduate Admissions Transfer Specialist (UGATS) engages in all phases of transfer student recruitment and site visits and activities. Reviews admissions applications, represents the University at recruitment events, and coordinates special on and off‑campus recruitment programs.
Responsibilities- Build relationships including outreach with external high schools, community colleges, and community organizations.
- Recruitment of transfer students and the evaluation and follow through of applied students.
- Serves as representative of the University in recruitment affairs and activities, educating potential students on opportunities at D’Youville as well as on factors that lead to a strong application.
- Enhance the student experience by providing high levels of customer service to prospective and new students inquiring about the University, its academic programs, admissions requirements, policies, payment options and procedures.
- Ensure a positive customer experience by being available, courteous, knowledgeable, and responsive to new student needs and wants.
- Collaborates with campus colleagues across the University for the benefit of recruiting students.
- Answers all inquiries regarding transfer admission standards, policies, programs, financial aid, and general information regarding the University.
- Reviews applications and determines the admissibility of students.
- Maintains regular communication with prospective transfer students and applicants.
- Coordinates on and off‑campus recruitment events for prospective students ranging in size from group visits, daily visits, personal appointments to larger open houses and University events as needed.
- Contributes to communication planning and publication content as well as group presentations.
- Open, receptive, and willing to apply constructive feedback.
- Manage the individual/group/front door experience in delivering exceptional customer service.
- Coordinate facility needs to include, but not limited to, catering, meeting space, merchandise, program and faculty involvement.
- Organize and deliver internal and external communications.
- Collaboration with multiple departments and school counselors.
- Oversee student workers and collaborate with student life and university ambassadors.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- Experience: Preference for experience in customer service and/or sales related environments or higher education.
- Skills & Abilities: Possess strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency with current MS Office and social networking practices.
- Experience with CRM software desirable.
- Able to represent and promote the University in a competitive environment.
- Able to identify and recruit students who are desirable enrollees for the University.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Possess good interpersonal skills as well as a sincere interest in student well‑being and success.
- Committed to meeting all goals and objectives as established by the Executive Director of Admissions.
- Exhibit initiative, resourcefulness, and problem‑resolution skills.

Pay: $38,500 - $48,500 Annually
All job offers are contingent upon legal authorization to work in New York State as determined by the NYS Department of Labor.
The salary range reflects our good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, the role and associated responsibilities, and the experience, education, and training of the selected candidate.
