Qualifications:
Administrative Assistant for the Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction and Technology
The NY HELPS (Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Program Statewide) is a New York State program that allows civil service agencies to hire qualified permanent employees quickly and without requiring them to take a competitive civil service exam. It is created to help agencies fill critical vacancies by streamlining the appointment process, though candidates must still meet all other minimum qualifications for the job.

Must be fingerprinted through the NYS Department of Education (required for new employees) - fingerprint procedure - attached
Clerical experience/knowledge
Experience with Google platform preferred
Knowledge of WINCAP preferred
Detail oriented/Organized
Good written and oral communications
Knowledge of Teacher and Teaching Assistant NYS Certification preferred
Ability to communicate effectively/cooperatively with others
Typical Work
Activities:
- Maintain Curriculum Office Records (e.g., Mentor Program, Grants, Professional Development, Field Trips, etc.)
- Maintains Curriculum Office financial accounts and/or records related to the departmental budgets and/or expenditures for supplies and equipment, textbooks, teacher instructional salaries etc.
- Daily communication with office staff and administration
- Organize logistics, including contracts with outside vendors, for Superintendent Conference Days and Professional Development throughout the school year
- Prepares draft responses to routine correspondence
- Maintains confidential files, records and prepares communication related to confidential matters
- Maintains time/attendance records for employee personnel folders, ensuring confidentiality of such information
- Other work as needed to support the function of the District Curriculum Office
- Maintain a self-starting solution oriented perspective
