** The Role
** Elmwood Village Charter Schools is seeking a dedicated and collaborative
** Instructional Assistant
** to join our team. The Instructional Assistant (IA) plays a vital role in fostering an inclusive, supportive, and academically enriching environment. Working closely with lead teachers, the IA helps implement lesson plans, provides small-group support, and assists in managing the classroom to ensure every student has the opportunity to thrive.###
** Key Responsibilities**
* ** Instructional Support:
** Facilitate small-group instruction and provide one-on-one assistance to students, particularly in literacy and numeracy, as directed by the classroom teacher.
* ** Classroom Management:
** Assist in maintaining a positive, orderly, and engaging classroom environment that aligns with EVCS’s culture and behavioral expectations.
* ** Data & Assessment:
** Support the teacher in tracking student progress, collecting data during assessments, and observing student learning patterns to inform instructional adjustments.
* ** Collaborative Planning:
** Participate in planning and data analysis meetings with grade level teams.
* ** Student Supervision:
** Supervise students during non-instructional times (e.g., arrival/dismissal, lunch, recess, and transitions) to ensure safety and adherence to school policies.
* ** Resource Preparation:
** Assist in the preparation and organization of instructional materials, bulletin boards, and classroom resources.## Qualifications###
** Qualifications & Requirements**

* Education:

** Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred).
* ** Certification:
** Assistant Teacher Certificate, New York State Teaching Certification or teacher certification candidates preferred.

* Experience:

** Previous experience in an urban school setting or a charter environment is highly valued.
* *
* Collaboration:

** Exceptional interpersonal skills and a desire to work in a highly collaborative, team-oriented school environment.
* ** Communication:
** Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
* ** Philosophy:
