As a Machining Technical Trainer you will train and mentor employees—current, new, and apprentices—at our new training center located in East Aurora, NY (on‑site only). You will ensure training programs meet the needs of the organization and its employees, enhancing their technical skills and knowledge in CNC and/or manual lathe machining.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver hands‑on instruction in lathe machining, including machine setup, tooling selection, blueprint interpretation, inspection techniques, and troubleshooting.
  • Translate Moog‑specific product and process knowledge to address skills gaps within the organization.
  • Coach and mentor students on machining safety and best practices.
  • Present training sessions clearly and concisely, engage students, and provide one‑on‑one coaching.
  • Conduct skills‑gap analyses, identify training needs, and develop appropriate training solutions for each student and the campus.
  • Design and develop technical training courses for levels ranging from beginners to advanced users.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure training programs align with organizational goals and industry standards.
  • Assess the effectiveness of training programs through feedback and performance metrics, implementing improvements as needed.
  • Demonstrate Moog’s culture and values in everyday processes and interactions.
Qualifications
  • Secondary school qualification (high school diploma, GED, or basic vocational/technical education in a related discipline).
  • At least seven (7) years of lathe machining experience, including experience delivering technical training and mentoring machinists in a manufacturing environment on both CNC and manual machines.
  • Extensive knowledge of lathe machining processes—machine setup, tooling, blueprint reading, inspection methods, and safe machining practices.
  • Ability to coordinate and deliver training sessions, including hands‑on workshops, seminars, and online courses.
  • Strong skills in translating technical needs within the business into effective training initiatives that address skill gaps and knowledge‑transfer protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills to teach and mentor students.
  • Positive attitude and passion for helping others grow.
  • Proficiency in operating IT tools, systems, and routers such as Teamcenter and MBS.
  • Experience training machinists in an aerospace, defense, or other highly skilled manufacturing environment.
Benefits
  • Competitive compensation package, annual profit sharing, matching 401(k) and participation in an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Flexible Spending and Health Savings Accounts.
  • Flexible paid time off, holidays, and parental leave program.
  • Comprehensive health coverage—including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, Employee Assistance Plan (“EAP”), and other supplemental benefits.
  • Professional development—tuition assistance, mentorship, coaching opportunities, leadership development, and other personal growth programs.
  • Inclusive, collaborative workplace with Employee Resource Groups and team‑building activities.
