Pay:
Starting at $33.96 per hour ($47,556 per school year)

Schedule:

Monday - Friday | 7:35 AM - 2:35 PM

Founded in 1986, Falk School serves students ages 5-21 across four Western New York campuses through highly structured classrooms and individualized educational supports. As an affiliate of Child & Family Services, we are committed to helping students build the academic, behavioral, and life skills needed to thrive.

Our classrooms are intentionally small—typically six students supported by one teacher and one teacher aide—allowing educators to develop meaningful relationships while providing individualized instruction and support. Teaching at Falk School is about more than delivering instruction; it's about becoming a trusted advocate who helps students develop confidence, resilience, and the skills they need for lifelong success.

Responsibilities
  • Develop lessons aligned with New York State Learning Standards and each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP)
  • Implement IEPs and Behavior Intervention Plans
  • Assess student progress using formal and informal assessment methods
  • Plan and deliver individualized, small-group, and whole-class instruction
  • Foster an engaging classroom environment that supports academic, behavioral, social, and emotional growth
  • Prepare instructional materials, assignments, and assessments
  • Maintain accurate attendance, progress monitoring, and program records
  • Support students in developing social-emotional skills, self-regulation, and problem-solving abilities
  • Collaborate with related service providers, administrators, and families
  • Direct and supervise assigned Teacher Aide(s)
  • Utilize Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) techniques when necessary to maintain a safe learning environment
Qualifications
  • New York State Students with Disabilities (SWD) or Applicable Content Area Teaching Certification required
  • Knowledge of New York State Learning Standards
  • Strong classroom management and instructional skills
  • Commitment to building meaningful relationships with students
