Elementary Physical Education Teacher (K-4 Fitness)##

Job Summary We are seeking a high-energy, creative, and passionate Physical Education Teacher to design and lead our K-4 Fitness Program. Unlike traditional sports-heavy PE roles, this position focuses entirely on building
** foundational movement skills, physical literacy, and a lifelong love for health and fitness
** in young learners.

The ideal candidate understands how to turn functional fitness into engaging games, meets students at their individual developmental levels, and fosters a positive, inclusive environment where every child feels confident moving their body.##

Key Responsibilities ### 1. Curriculum & Instruction
* ** Design and deliver a fitness-focused curriculum
** tailored specifically for Kindergarten through 4th-grade students.
* Focus lessons on
** fundamental movement skills** (locomotor, non-locomotor, and manipulative skills like balancing, skipping, running, jumping, and throwing).
* Incorporate age-appropriate fitness concepts into daily activities (e.g., teaching heart rate, flexibility, and strength through play).
* Create an inclusive environment that accommodates all fitness levels, neurodiversities, and physical abilities.### 2. Student Engagement & Environment
* Transform standard fitness routines into
** developmentally appropriate lessons and activities** (e.g., obstacle courses, movement stories, and cooperative challenges).
* Establish clear, positive classroom management routines that prioritize student safety and emotional well-being.
* Encourage positive social-emotional skills, such as teamwork, sportsmanship, resilience, and respect for others.### 3. Assessment & Community Outreach
* Track and celebrate individual student growth and effort, rather than focusing on competitive outcomes.
* Promote school-wide wellness initiatives (e.g., field days, family fitness nights, or active recess programs).
* Communicate effectively with parents and classroom teachers regarding the value of physical activity and student progress.## Qualifications##

Qualifications & Skills ###

Required:

* *
* Education:

** Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field.
* ** Certification:
** Valid State Teaching Certification in Physical Education (K-12 or Elementary).
* *
* Experience:

** Proven experience working with elementary-aged children (K-4 preferred) in a school, camp, or youth fitness setting.
* ** Safety:
** Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).### Preferred

Skills:

* Deep understanding of early childhood physical development milestones.
* Strong vocal presence and high energy required to keep 5-to-10-year-olds engaged and moving.
* Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
