The Department of Philosophy at The City College of New York (CCNY) of the City University of New York (CUNY) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, anticipated to begin in Fall 2026. The position will involve research and teaching introductory-level undergraduate courses as well as elective courses in the applicant’s area of expertise.
Area Of Specialization- philosophy of cognitive science;
- ethics (but not Kantian or biomedical ethics);
- social/political philosophy, preferably with a historical background.
Candidates must be prepared to develop and teach a course in AI, Ethics, and Society.
QualificationsPh.D. in Philosophy
Preferred QualificationEvidence of teaching and research excellence.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work full-time in the United States.
CompensationSalary Range: $76,937 - $94,909
