School Administration / Principal Position Summary Buff Sci  is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Long-Term Substitute Science Teacher to provide high-quality instruction and maintain a positive, structured learning environment during an extended teacher absence. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering science instruction, supporting student learning and engagement, maintaining classroom routines, and collaborating with school staff to ensure continuity of instruction.

Essential Responsibilities Deliver engaging, standards-aligned science lessons using provided curriculum, lesson plans, and instructional materials.

Establish and maintain a safe, respectful, and productive classroom environment.

Provide instruction appropriate to students' grade levels and individual learning needs.

Monitor student understanding and provide meaningful feedback.

Maintain accurate attendance, grades, assignments, and other required classroom records.

Communicate regularly with school administration and relevant staff regarding student progress and classroom needs.

Follow school policies, procedures, and expectations for classroom management and student supervision.

Support laboratory activities and hands-on science learning while following appropriate safety procedures.

Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and families as appropriate.

Maintain continuity of instruction and classroom expectations throughout the long-term assignment.

Participate in required meetings, professional development, and school activities as assigned.

Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; degree in Science, Education, or a related field preferred.

Appropriate New York State teaching certification preferred or required based on assignment.

Previous classroom teaching or substitute teaching experience preferred.

Strong knowledge of science content and instructional practices.

Excellent communication, organization, and classroom-management skills.

Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

Commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive, and academically engaging classroom environment.

Preferred Skills Experience teaching middle or high school science.

Ability to adapt instruction to different

Qualifications
