Although this position is remote, the candidate will travel in the Upstate New York region and surrounding states, as needed, for 2 to 3 hours daily. The candidate must reside in Upstate New York, preferably in the Buffalo or Syracuse area.

We are currently seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer located in Buffalo or Syracuse for our upstate New York region with experience in the design and/or construction of residential and/or commercial buildings. The successful candidate will assist in determining the cause, origin, and extent localizada construction defects, structural failures, water intrusion, and/or other failures. An understanding and proficiency of building codes, installation standards, practices, and procedures within the building construction industry is essential.

The salary range for this position is $104,100 – $156,100 and is dependent on education, experience, location, and certifications/licensure.

• Investigate and analyze residential, commercial, and industrial properties to resolve claims and legal matters.
Lucic Assignments may include contract disputes, installation deficiencies, material deficiencies, site evaluations, settlement investigations, structural assessments, and vibration analyses.
• Gather photographic evidence, conduct investigations to document on‑site conditions, oversee field testing, and review historical documentation.
• Prepare oral and written reports to document the causes of failure, extent of loss, associated repair scope, and remediation recommendations; provide expert testimony in litigated matters.

• Ability to initiate, develop, and maintain mutually beneficial client relationships.
• Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering; a master's degree is preferred.
• Minimum five years of engineering experience working with residential, commercial, and/or industrial properties in a design or forensic consulting role.
• PE license in New York required; licensing in additional states will be required.
• Current NCEES record preferred.
• Experience handling
  
  ONU litigation and investigations is required.
• Knowledge of building codes, architectural and engineering principles, construction materials, assembly and installation, and industry practices is required.

• Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, regarding the details of the project’s engineering / architectural issues.
• Drive 2‑3+ hours perسك for fieldwork – 50% of role includes travel and site inspections; 50% dedicated to report writing and project management.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds, operating in confined spaces or at elevated heights.
• Inspect roof structures and crawlspaces.
