EXO Talent Partners is supporting a confidential aerospace manufacturer (Military Aircraft program) hiring an Automation Controls Engineer to join their Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team. This role is hands‑on and project‑driven, focused on designing, implementing, and supporting factory automation systems and automated manufacturing cells.
You’ll work in a cross‑functional engineering group (controls, robotics, mechanical, software) to deliver automation that improves throughput, reduces variation, and supports next‑gen manufacturing operations.
WHAT YOU’LL DO- Scope, design, develop, implement, and support automation systems and automated manufacturing cells
- Identify automation opportunities that improve efficiency, utilization, and output
- Support specification and purchase of capital automation equipment with ROI focus
- Partner with internal teams and external automation integrators to execute projects
- Support and improve existing automation systems in production
- Troubleshoot automation‑related hardware/software issues (controls, robotics, vision, networks, etc.)
- Balance automation implementation with minimal disruption to production
- Occasional travel (approximately 10%)
Must‑have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a technical field (Mechanical, Electrical, Automation/Robotics, Software preferred)
- 5–10 years of relevant experience delivering automation projects in manufacturing environments
- Hands‑on industrial controls and/or robotics programming and integration experience
- Strong troubleshooting ability across electromechanical systems, software, and controls
- Strong communication skills and comfort working cross‑functionally
Nice‑to‑have / high‑signal keywords:
- PLC programming (Rockwell/Allen‑Bradley strongly preferred)
- SCADA and enterprise system integration experience
- RFID systems and automation networking
This position requires access to U.S. export‑controlled information. Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. No visa sponsorship.
