Project Monitor
The Project Monitor is responsible for on‑site oversight of asbestos abatement projects, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. This role plays a crucial part in supporting public health and safety by monitoring abatement activities, performing air sampling, and documenting project compliance throughout the duration of the work.
Responsibilities- Provide on‑site oversight of asbestos abatement projects.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Monitor abatement activities to support public health and safety.
- Perform air sampling to assess environmental safety.
- Document project compliance throughout the duration of the work.
- Complete field documentation independently.
- Collect air samples as part of project compliance monitoring.
- Experience with asbestos inspection and hazardous material handling.
- Comfortable working in the field, especially in buildings.
- Valid NYS driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
- Knowledge of asbestos regulations, including NYSDOL Industrial Code Rule 56.
- Asbestos certificate and understanding of EPA regulations.
- Proficiency in construction management.
- OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification.
Skills & Qualifications
- NYSDOL Asbestos Project Monitor certification or willingness to obtain through paid training.
- EPA Lead certification.
- Experience with asbestos air sampling and project monitoring is preferred.
The role involves working in the field, primarily in buildings, with occasional weekday and weekend availability required. Employees enjoy a family‑like culture and opportunities for certification. The position does not require physical contact with asbestos.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Buffalo, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $25.00/hr.
