Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering project within area of assigned responsibility, such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing. Project coordination from the bid stage through field support including product design.
Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems. Directs integration of technical activities and products. Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases. Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget. Prepares interim and completion project reports.
Knowledge of equipment, tools, mechanical and electrical devices, design techniques, principles, tools and instruments involved in the production and use of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models, numbers, their operations, and interrelationships including arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.

Duties and Essential Job FunctionsDuties may generally be described as developing mechanical and electrical project concept designs, layout, assembly, and parts drawings, bills of material, etc., in support of current and new products. Conduct work in accordance with Quality Assurance (QA) practice and procedures. Specific job results and duties will include the following, plus others which may be assigned.
Other Functions and Responsibilities- Other assigned duties as required.
- Minimal travel (including International) may be required to support project.
- High school diploma plus a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or in a technical field, with a minimum of five years pertinent and progressive project engineering experience.
- Computer literate in word processing and Engineering software packages.
- Auto Cad proficient.
- Excellent English communications skills. (writing/verbal).
- Self motivated team player, able to operate with minimal supervision.
- Five years of nuclear power industry experience.
- Post Graduate studies and/or E.I.T. certification.
- IEEE, AWS or ASME Member.
- Comprehensive experience in Plant Equipment Design, Analysis, Fabrication, Installation, Environmental Qualification and Project management.
- Working knowledge of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, IEEE/ IPCEA/ NEMA/ANSI/AWS/EPRI/NQA-1 Standards and the Code of Federal Regulations.
- Working knowledge of Sealing Technology, Temperature Sensing and Fiber Optic systems.
- Knowledge of welding procedures/requirements.
