Civil Engineer - Inspector

Construction Inspector I/II – Western New York Area

We are seeking a Construction Inspector for highway, bridge, and related transportation construction projects.

• Inspect a diverse range of construction projects including bridge, highway, culvert, and related transportation improvement projects.
• Detail‑oriented and able to manage multiple tasks at a time.
• Assist senior level inspection staff with monitoring daily construction activities, tracking and reporting quantity usage, and preparing daily work reports.
• Verify conformance of materials supplied by contractor with standard specifications and contract documents.
• Interpret construction drawings and specifications on projects as needed.
• Work weekends and/or weeknights as necessary.

• 0–5 years of inspection experience related to highway and bridge construction, including projects administered by New York State Department of Transportation, New York State Thruway Authority, or locally‑administered Federal‑Aid projects.
• Proficiency in collecting data, interpreting plans, conducting field measurements, performing calculations, and documenting work performed by contractor.
• Proficiency with standard software applications and ability to learn new programs.
• Associate’s Degree in Civil Engineering/Technology or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering/Technology.
• Good organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.

Personal pay is determined based on location, education, experience, and unique skills. The expected salary for this position is $55,000 – $67,000.
