Lead Bridge Inspection Engineer – Field Leadership

We are seeking an experienced Bridge Inspection Team Leader to support NYSDOT Biennial Bridge Inspection contracts throughout New York State. This role is ideal for a licensed Professional Engineer who enjoys field work, leadership responsibilities, and helping maintain critical infrastructure across the region.

• Lead bridge inspection teams on NYSDOT inspection assignments
• Perform structural inspections of bridges and related infrastructure
• Document findings, deficiencies, and recommendations
• Coordinate with NYSDOT and internal engineering staff
• Prepare and review inspection reports
• Ensure inspections are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule

• NYS Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• Minimum 3 years of recent bridge design or bridge inspection experience
• NYSDOT Team Leader approval preferred or ability to obtain approval
• Strong understanding of bridge inspection standards and safety procedures
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

• Working at heights
• Climbing ladders and scaffolding
• Operating aerial lifts or under-bridge inspection equipment
• Working in confined spaces and adverse weather conditions
