Field Service Engineer

Description

The Field Service Engineer is responsible for supporting customers with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of advanced vacuum deposition systems and retrofits. This role provides hands-on technical support at customer sites while ensuring equipment reliability, performance optimization, and customer satisfaction.

The position requires strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities, customer interaction skills, and the ability to support highly technical semiconductor and capital equipment systems.

Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education

• Strong electrical, mechanical, and systems troubleshooting capability

• Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documentation

• Customer-facing technical service experience

• Ability to travel extensively throughout assigned territory

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently in field environments

Requirements

• Install, commission, and support vacuum deposition systems at customer sites

• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs

• Support process optimization and equipment performance improvement initiatives

• Maintain accurate service documentation and technical records

• Provide technical training and support to customer personnel

• Coordinate with engineering and technical support teams

• Maintain professional customer relationships through field support activities

Nice-to-Have Skills, Experience, and Education

• Experience supporting semiconductor equipment, vacuum systems, thin film systems, or capital equipment

• Military technical experience highly transferable

• Experience supporting complex industrial or high-tech equipment systems
