As a Sr. Advanced R&D Engineer here at Solstice Advanced Materials, you will be accountable for conducting advanced research and development activities in a Pilot Plant operations environment to drive innovation and deliver cutting‑edge solutions. You will play a key role in developing and running chemical operations R&D projects in alignment with the company's business goals. In this role, you will report directly to the Senior R&D Manager of the Pilot Plant at our Buffalo, NY location.
In this role, you will impact the development of new technologies and solutions that address critical demand in the chemical and sustainability industry. You will work with cross‑functional teams to lead chemical operations projects and foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous learning.

- Conduct advanced research and development activities to drive innovation
- Work with cross‑functional teams to develop, design, and lead complicated chemical operations projects
- Direct Pilot Plant Operators in the day‑to‑day functions of the operation
- Develop and write Standard Operating Procedures and train operators on the procedures
- Participate in Process Hazard Analyses and contribute as process expert, owning and driving action items and deliverables
- Support Pilot Plant daily operations, audits, safety initiatives, and building projects
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Chemical Engineering or another related field
- 7 years of experience engineering in the chemical industry, either in operations, process engineering, or research and development
- Ability to apply core process and technical knowledge to unfamiliar technologies

CompensationThe annual base salary range for this position is $115,000 - $159,000. This salary information serves as a general guideline. Solstice Advanced Materials considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
