Controls Engineer

Our client, a leading automotive manufacturing organization, is seeking a Controls Engineer to join their team. As a Controls Engineer, you will be part of the Manufacturing Engineering team supporting production, maintenance, and automation operations. The ideal candidate will have strong problem‑solving skills, effective communication abilities, and a high level of ownership which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Controls Engineer

Location: Buffalo NY

Pay Range: $47.61/hr.

- $54.45/hr.

What’s the Job?

• Design, program, troubleshoot, and support PLC‑based automation control systems.

• Develop and maintain electrical wiring diagrams, control panels, and automation documentation.

• Provide technical support for manufacturing equipment, automation systems, and production‑related controls issues.

• Support installation, startup, debugging, and optimization of control systems and automation equipment.

• Coordinate with maintenance, production, contractors, and engineering teams to ensure successful project execution.

What’s Needed?

• Minimum 2 years of experience programming Allen‑Bradley Rockwell PLCs (RSLogix 5000 and/or Studio 5000), Siemens PLCs (TIA Portal/S7), and Ladder Logic.

• Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot electrical schematics and machine control circuits.

• Experience troubleshooting automation equipment in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

• Understanding of Ethernet/IP industrial networks and basic robot programming experience (Fanuc experience preferred).

• Legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
