Job Summary
TYLin is seeking a Senior Engineer/Project Manager to join the New York Water team. The Senior Engineer will support the design and implementation of innovative water, wastewater, and climate resiliency infrastructure projects in the New York region. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Program Director to manage the planning, design, and construction of these projects. Projects may include combined sewer conveyance/storage, real-time control smart sewers, and wastewater treatment.
Responsibilities- Planning and engineering design and consulting oversight for complex assignments, including conditions assessments, project site visits, report preparation, process mechanical and hydraulic calculations, utility plans, technical specifications, cost estimating, and understanding community impacts.
- Preparation of design and construction documents for wastewater and water facilities, climate resiliency projects, and conveyance/treatment projects.
- Review of engineering designs, bid packages, RFPs, and Statements of Work prepared by others, as part of a program management role.
- Active leadership in assignments as a member of a team, including peer mentorship of design and consulting staff.
- Periodically working onsite at client (Utility) water/wastewater facilities to collaborate alongside the facility operations and maintenance staff.
- Support management of grant writing and funding procurement for infrastructure and community projects.
- Actively engage in business development and growth opportunities for new clients and projects/programs under the Water Sector, Infrastructure Equity Practice, and Water Advisory Practice.
- Education:
minimum of a B.S. degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is preferred. - Experience:
minimum 10+ years’ experience in water and wastewater design/engineering – performing studies, design, and construction services for municipal clients. - Demonstrated experience developing designs and construction contract documents for complex infrastructure projects.
- Certifications, Licenses:
Professional Engineering (PE) licensure, or working towards licensure, preferred. - Client focused, always striving to give clients the best solutions.

TYLin is committed to pay equity. The base compensation range for this position is $101,600–$152,400 annually for the local market.
