As the Electrical Service Technician (Engineer) you will be responsible for assembling electrical equipment, reading and interpreting instructions, assembling parts and tools, and fitting electronic components together.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Design and analysis of DC‑to‑DC converter circuits:
Buck, Boost, Buck‑Boost, and Isolated topologies. - Develop, review, update, modify, and approve electrical design plans and work schedules.
- Liaise with clients and other engineers to ensure projects are completed to specifications.
- Maintain and improve existing engineering processes through quality assurance and control processes.
- Draw up schedules, company regulations, and various other documentation and reports as necessary.
- Analyze existing processes and schedule meetings to discuss improvement initiatives.
- Conduct research, perform diagnostics, and troubleshoot equipment.
- Ensure a safe, positive work environment.
- Circuit design and layout for minimum EMI generation.
- Interface with outside test houses (e.g., TUV) for testing and circuit modifications for EMI compliance.
- Interface with Safety Agencies (TUV, UL, CSA) to certify new products and maintain compliance of existing products.
SKILLS:
- General knowledge of different charging requirements of various battery chemistries.
- Ability to read and understand schematic design and as‑built drawing closeout for projects.
- Experience in Project Management.
- Wireless power concepts and standards – Qi, Air Fuel, etc.
- Microcontroller programming.
- Digital control of power supplies.
- Experience or exposure handling electrical BOM management and change‑over management for out‑of‑stock or supply‑chain procurement issues, preferred but not required.
- Site walk experience, including but limited to: site host walks; project/program feasibility review; engineering/technical requirements versus site host/customer requirement management, preferred.
- Magnetic design.
- Thermal design.
- Circuit design and layout for minimum EMI generation.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Excellent motivational skills and multitasking abilities.
- Working under tight timelines.
- Fast‑paced, changing environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field of study.
- 2+ years of field experience, inclusive of co‑op, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
