Director of Engineering - Transportation

This is a leadership role where you can shape major infrastructure projects without giving up the technical work you love (if you want to remain technical). You'll guide a high-performing team across NYSDOT Regions 4 & 5 and have a tangible impact on both the work and the people behind it.

• Lead transportation department operations, client growth, and project delivery
• Mentor PMs on scope, budgets, staffing, and execution
• Oversee and contribute to highway design (roadways, ADA, traffic control, drainage)
• Prepare and guide specifications, estimates, and bid packages
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
• Ensure QA/QC standards are consistently met
• Build client relationships and support proposal strategy

• Be able to do the job as described.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in New York
• Deep understanding of NYSDOT standards and processes
• Experience guiding teams using Micro Station, Open Roads, or Civil 3D
• Comfortable balancing leadership with technical expertise
