Civil Design Engineer Buffalo, NY

Azar Design Co is seeking a qualified Site/Civil Engineer with 1+ years of relevant experience to work on a diverse portfolio of work, including parks and green space, waterfronts, transportation, campuses & universities, and stormwater/green infrastructure.

• Assist senior engineers and landscape architects in designing civil/site engineering projects that may involve site layout, paving and roadway design, grading and drainage design, stormwater management, utility design (sanitary sewer and water), landscape features, and erosion control.
• Duties may include design and drafting of conceptual layouts and construction drawings as well as specifications, design calculations, compiling reports, quantity takeoffs and cost estimates, preparation of SWPPPs and stormwater calculations, and other associated project deliverables.
• Provide construction administration services, such as submittal review, SWPPP inspections, and site visits to monitor work progress and quality.
• Collaborate with diverse teams of architects, engineers, environmental scientists, and surveyors to bring projects to life.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil Engineering or Landscape Architecture (or equivalent).
• Entry-level to 5 years of experience in site/civil engineering, landscape architecture, or related fields.
• Technical expertise:
  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in AutoCAD, Civil3D, or Micro Station.
• Teamwork and communication:
  Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

• Experience with HydroCAD or other stormwater modeling software.
• Well-versed in construction methods and construction administration.
• Familiarity with local permitting agencies and jurisdictions.
