Controls Engineer
We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineers to join an OEM Execution team. These individuals will act similarly to program managers, overseeing the GEN 6 equipment being introduced into the Tonawanda plant. While their primary role will be managing equipment OEMs, technical expertise is essential to assist with any hands‑on requirements. The Tonawanda GPS (Powertrain) plant features multiple lines, including the Head Line, Block Line, Crank Line, and an assembly line for engine production.
The focus is on facilitating the launch of new round parts machining lines.
- Oversee the integration and commissioning of GEN 6 equipment into the Tonawanda plant.
- Manage and liaise with equipment OEMs for seamless implementation.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for CNC equipment as required.
- Facilitate the launch of new production lines, ensuring timely and efficient execution.
- Collaborate with local resources to support the plant's operational goals.
- Proficiency in Siemens PLCs.
- Experience with CNC equipment, specifically FANUC and Siemens controls.
- Technical expertise in Sinumerik 1 CNC systems.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with GPS (Powertrain) plant operations.
- Ability to manage complex equipment projects.
The role involves working in the Tonawanda GPS plant, which houses multiple production lines for engine and component manufacturing. The plant is equipped with FANUC and Siemens CNC machinery, requiring familiarity with these technologies. The work environment demands collaboration with local teams and flexibility to address technical challenges as they arise.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Buffalo, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
