Structural Dam Safety Engineering Project Manager​/Technical Lead

AECOM is seeking a highly talented Structural Dam Safety Engineering Project Manager/Technical Lead to join the East Region Dams Team. This position will support a variety of Dam Safety Engineering projects across the East Region. The successful candidate will join the ENR consistently ranked #1 Dams and Reservoirs firm and have access to exciting career advancement opportunities. • Perform the roles of a Project Manager such as maintaining client relationships, contracting, project planning and execution, financial management, technical management, change management and project team management including subcontractors.
• Client facing role with ownership and responsibility for the successful delivery of dam engineering projects and programs including business development and proposal preparation for new and existing clients.
• Lead the technical execution of projects including structural stability and strength analyses, structural design, Potential Failure Mode Analyses, Semi-Quantitative Risk Assessments, site inspection, construction observation, and regulatory compliance activities associated with a variety of hydraulic concrete structures such as spillways, outlet works, and other site civil structures.
• Plan, manage and lead field investigations for various hydraulic structures.
• Prepare and perform quality control reviews of other engineers  work on deliverables such as design calculations, engineering reports, construction drawings, and technical specifications.
• Build and maintain project schedules for delivering project success including the management of resources, budgets and risk.
• Plan, direct, supervise and lead multi-disciplinary teams on a variety of Dam Safety Engineering projects.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
• Flexibility and willingness to travel for project work and business development as needed.

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in at least one state with ability to apply for reciprocity in additional states.
• Minimum of 5 years of direct experience managing projects or completing project management activities (budgets, schedule, staffing, quality control, client relations).
• Minimum 2 years of experience developing proposals including technical approaches, scopes of work, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Occasional travel to project sites, client meetings, and/or professional conferences is required.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License and ability to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.

• Minimum of 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency.
• Master of Science in Civil Engineering with focus on Structural Engineering.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.
• Ability to complete the Managing AECOM Projects training and obtain the AECOM Project Manager certification; start within 6 months of hire.
• Experience with software such as Microsoft Power BI and Project, Primavera P6, Bluebeam and PMIS such as Procore and e-Builder, AutoCAD, Mathcad, STADD Pro and ANSYS.
• Mentoring junior staff and leadership — guiding engineers to produce quality work and client service.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Project experience with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
• FERC Independent Consultant (IC) status or ability to obtain approval to perform Part 12D Inspections.
• Experience performing risk assessments and PFMA related to dam design, construction, and operation.
