Senior Project Manager – Capital Projects (Onsite – New York)

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale capital projects from concept through commissioning. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced industrial environments and has successfully managed major capital projects involving engineering, procurement, construction, contractor management, and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex capital projects from planning through startup and commissioning.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and overall execution.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
• Oversee EPC firms, contractors, vendors, and consultants throughout the project lifecycle.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, maintenance, and executive leadership.
• Drive project safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Manage project reporting, forecasting, change management, and stakeholder communication.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of experience managing large-scale industrial capital projects.
• Demonstrated experience leading projects from concept through commissioning.
• Experience managing engineering, construction, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of project budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, and risk management.
• Background within manufacturing, industrial, energy, utilities, EPC, chemicals, life sciences, or similar capital-intensive industries.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• PMP certification is a plus.
