ResponsibilitiesAnd Duties
We have an immediate opening for an Project Monitor Technician in our Buffalo office. This position offers the potential for a variety of work experiences with an architecture and engineering consulting firm. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the project managers within the group and will be responsible for the following:
- Collection of air samples before, during and after the completion of the asbestos abatement project.
- Complete a chain-of-custody form to accompany the air samples.
- Document air sample locations on a floor plan.
- Deliver samples daily to the laboratory for analysis. The samples are to be delivered directly to the laboratory, brought to the office or picked up by a courier.
- Complete a daily project log detailing the actions/activities on work completed that day.
- Oversee the actions of the asbestos abatement contractor.
- Organize a closeout report that includes a summary of the work performed, the laboratory reports, sample locations and daily logs for insertion into the project report.
- New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) certified. Watts will pay for the (40 hour, 5-day) training class & the fee to become NYSDOL certified.
- College degree or some college preferred.
- Computer use and experience with Word & Excel software.
- Need reliable transportation.
- Must be physically fit and pass the OSHA physical & wear a respirator.
- Need to be able to climb stairs and carry equipment (20-30 lbs.)
- Between $37,440 - $41,600 depending on experience
