Plumbing​/Fire Protection Project Engineer

General Duties

• Prepareplumbingandfireprotectionsystemdesigns,including layouts,calculations,and specifications
• Performengineeringcomputationssuchaspipesizing,flowandpressurecalculations,fixtureunitanalysis,andpreliminaryhydrauliccalculations
• Reviewarchitecturalandstructuraldrawingstocoordinatesystemrouting,equipmentspacerequirements,and penetrations
• Coordinatewitharchitects,mechanicalandelectricalengineers,andotherprojectconsultants
• Participateindesignmeetingsandclearlycommunicatetechnicalrequirements
• Assistseniorstaffinevaluatingdesignalternativesandcostimplications
• Reviewshopdrawingsandsubmittalsforconformancewithdesignintent
• RespondtocontractorRFIsandprovideclarificationsduringconstruction
• Conductsitevisitstoobserveinstallationprogressandverifycompliancewithdrawingsandspecifications
• Assistwithfunctionaltesting,punchlists,andprojectcloseoutdocumentation
• EnsureworkcomplieswithinternalQA/QCproceduresandmaintainorganizedprojectfiles

• Experiencewithsystemmodeling,hydraulic calculations,andBIM(Revit) preferred
• FamiliaritywithNFPAstandards,building codes,andengineeringbestpractices

• Bachelor of Sciencein Mechanical Engineering ,Fire Protection Engineering ,orrelateddiscipline
• Engineer-in-Training(E.I.T.)requiredoractivelypursuing;
  
  P.E.track preferred
• 2–5yearsofplumbingand/orfireprotectionsystemdesignexperienceinbuildingprojects

The expected base salary range for this role is $72,500 – $87,360 per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.

Bachelors or better in Fire Prevention Technology or related field.

Bachelors or better in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

2–5 years of plumbing and/or fire protection system design experience in building projects
