Mascot Intern Position
The Buffalo Sabres are looking for a unique individual to join the Game Presentation team that supports the Sabres Mascot, "Sabre tooth" and the Bandits mascot "Rax". The role of Mascot Intern would assist Sabre tooth and Rax on game nights and at community appearances.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Accompany Sabre tooth to events and appearances.
- Serve as the liaison between the community and Sabre tooth at home games and appearances.
- Provide support at a designated number of community appearances, including birthday parties, parades, school visits, hospital visits, charitable events, and other events coordinated by the Buffalo Sabres.
- Interact with fans, including answering questions, taking pictures and videos, while protecting the mascot
- Maintain timely response to all communication and requests.
- Assist with the capture of content used on Sabre tooth's social media channels.
- Observe crowd and the environment for any safety issues and respond appropriately as needed.
- Enrich lives by creating winning experiences and timeless memories.
- Assist Mascot Coordinator in all responsibilities for all Sabres' and Bandits home games
- Assisting in preparing equipment and props
Minimum Qualifications for the Position:
- Candidate must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have experience as a mascot performer
- Ability to Ice Skate
- Reliable transportation to Key Bank Center.
- Desire to work in professional sports.
- Availability to work Buffalo Sabres home games
- Must be able to work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and Holidays
- Must be between the height of 5'9 – 6'1
- The understanding that working in sports is different than being a fan. This position does not guarantee candidates will be able to watch games. Many valuable positions within the organization are behind the scenes, and they provide little ability to watch the games.

Compensation & Hours
This role pays $16.00 an hour. This is a part-time role and must have the flexibility to work extended hours, evenings, weekends and holidays. This is a temporary position for the season.
Work Environment & Physical Demands.
- Candidate must be able to perform physical tasks such as sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time.
- Must maintain a high level of fitness to perform in character
- Ability to work in excessive heat or cold related conditions
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
