Overview

Assistant Professor of Economics & Finance — Buffalo, NY

• Teach three finance courses per semester at the undergraduate and MBA levels in-person and hybrid formats.
• Conduct scholarly research in corporate finance and related fields that leads to publication in peer-reviewed journals consistent with AACSB Scholarly Academic (SA) standards.
• Demonstrate effective teaching and provide comprehensive advising and mentoring of students, encompassing both academic progress and career development.
• Develop and revise curricula, course content, and instructional methods to enhance learning outcomes.
• Contribute to the department, school, and university through service activities such as curriculum development, assessment, and committee participation.
• Design and deliver finance courses in multiple instructional modalities, including traditional in-person, hybrid, and online formats.
• Conduct empirical finance research in corporate finance, financial markets, or related fields using large-scale financial databases (e.g., Bloomberg Terminal, Capital IQ).
• Perform advanced statistical and econometric analysis utilizing Stata, R, SAS, and Python.
• Publish working papers with a focus on corporate finance.

• Ph.D in Finance or closely related field.
• Experience teaching college-level finance courses including courses in corporate finance and investments; designing and delivering finance courses in multiple instructional modalities, including traditional in-person and online formats.
• Experience conducting empirical finance research in corporate finance, financial markets, or related fields using large-scale financial databases (e.g., Bloomberg Terminal, Capital IQ).
• Proficiency in advanced statistical and econometric analysis utilizing Stata, R, SAS, and Python.
• Demonstrated record of academic scholarship including drafting working papers with a focus on corporate finance.

Salary: $110,000 per year
